Chamber ensembles from the American Youth Symphony perform Haydn: String Quartet in D major, Opus 76, No. 5 h, and Brahms: Clarinet Quintet.
The American Youth Symphony provides professional training for musicians through a wide repertoire and varied styles of music, from classical masterworks to world premieres and innovative film scores. Competitively selected, fellows receive a full scholarship and have the opportunity to work alongside world-class guest artists, including Daniel Bjarnason, Anna Clyne, Sarah Chang, Johannes Moser, John Williams, David Newman, Alan Silvestri, Charles Fox, and Lera Auerbach. Designed to challenge, nurture, and inspire, the American Youth Symphony is a musical laboratory where fellows not only master their parts but also develop a deep understanding of the musical score.
Every year LACMA provides free admission (and a free bus!) to take many disadvantaged and grateful folks to Andell Family Sundays!
