Art lovers of all kinds—from casual admirers to serious collectors—are invited to attend Self Help Graphics & Art’s Annual Print Fair and Exhibition. Held on the last Saturday of June every year, Self Help Graphics & Art’s Annual Print Fair is a one-day only opportunity for art lovers to acquire new, limited edition, fine art prints created by dozen of artists at Self Help Graphics & Arts during the year. The Annual Print Fair & Exhibition is a highly anticipated showcase filled with panel presentations, demonstrations, and an opportunity for artists that have participated through Self Help Graphics & Art’s Professional Printmaking Program to show off their work created throughout the year. This event draws hundreds of people to SHG, giving the artists a chance to exhibit their artwork on a large scale. The Annual Print Fair & Exhibition helps provide funding for the Día de los Muertos Season.

Self-Help Graphics was a great part of Big Sunday’s art/craft II and art/craft III.

Inside Out Productions at L.A. GOAL Proudly presents the 25th Annual Art Exhibit & Sale

Join us in celebrating the whimsically creative, colorful, confounding and reassuring artwork of Inside Out artists. L.A. GOAL, a non-profit agency, guides adults with developmental disabilities in finding, recognizing and utilizing their abilities.

The one-day art exhibit and sale will take place at Koplin Del Rio Gallery on Sunday, October 25th, 2015from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Proceeds from sales are used to help offset the artists’ salaries and purchase their studio supplies. Inside Out Productions provides professional art instruction as well as paid, part-time employment for artists with developmental disabilities.

 

Original works of fine art, multi-media sculpture, embroidery, weaving and ceramics will be on display and available for sale. Stop by the L.A. GOAL pop up shop to browse our exciting new products, including an array of greeting cards, screen printed apparel, art prints, ceramic tea light holders, tie dyed Moleskine journals, and other neat home and gift items.  

Eleana Del Rio donates the Koplin Del Rio Gallery every year to L.A. GOAL for this annual art event. Koplin Del Rio focuses on contemporary painting, drawing and sculpture of internationally acclaimed artists, as well as emerging California artists. Koplin Del Rio emphasizes showing representational, figurative, landscape and still-life works.

L.A. Goal has participated in Big Sunday’s art/craft events, and Big Sunday has sent teams to the Craft and Folk Art Museum for the past few years on Big Sunday Weekend.

Dia de los Muertos Celebration

For 42 years Self Help Graphics & Art (SHG) has organized one of the most popular Día de los Muertos events in Los Angeles and perhaps the oldest Day of the Dead commemoration in the country. This program is unique in that it provides the community with a season of activities from August to November, to celebrate and prepare for Día de los Muertos.

Self-Help Graphics was a great part of Big Sunday’s art/craft II and art/craft III.

The spray can is a tool of choice for many artists, but for internationally known graffiti artist Man One the spray can has become an object to collect and paint on. Choose a can from Man One’s vast and funky collection to paint and transform into your own work of art.

Join Piece by Piece and Ron Finley at the Vermont Square Library – Los Angeles’ oldest operating library – for a day full of FUN, engaging activities for all ages!

 

Set on the acre of land surrounding the historic building, Da FUNction will feature an open air library, an edible garden and art exhibits, hands-on instruction and workshops. Yoga will start the day off and continue throughout the event. Check out on-site demonstrations of how to make mosaics, graffiti art, weaving, planting, cooking, woodworking, zumba and so much more. Listen to live music, donate to a blood drive, feast with local food trucks, and have lots of FUN, FUN, FUN!

 

Ron Finley grows a nourishing food culture in South Central LA’s food desert by planting the seeds and tools for healthy eating. Finley’s vision for a healthy, accessible food forest started with the curbside veggie garden he planted in the strip of dirt in front of his own house.

Piece by Piece has been part of Big Sunday’s art/craft a number of times, plus we worked together on a great project last March!

Piece by Piece @ Chinatown Design Night

In collaboration with the Chinatown Business Improvement District, Fifth Floor Gallery, and Preen, LA Design Festival’s closing night event is an all-out street party that takes place under the crimson glow of the lanterns of Chung King Road, a 500-foot pedestrian alley in the northwest corner of “New Chinatown.”

 

Chung King Road is now one of the centers of art and nightlife in Downtown Los Angeles. This year, Chinatown Design Night will feature a pop-up design market for the first time, showcasing local makers and designers including Piece by Piece, Birch & Bone, Capsule Labs, Delusions of Grandeur, Ink+Smog, Irving Place Studio, Janel Foo Glassworks, Lumpkin Furniture, Post Studios, Rewilder, Stacy Wong Handmade, The Happening, and many more!

Piece by Piece has been part of Big Sunday’s art/craft a number of times, plus we worked together on a great project last March!
